The Most Important Decision
Decisions, decisions, we face hundreds each day. Unfortunately, many of us get bogged down in the little ones and don’t think enough about the big ones that really matter.
What about the decision that determines where you will spend eternity? Life’s most important decision is the one most people rarely think about:
Two thousand years ago, Jesus asked: “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?’ (Matthew 22.42). There are really only two options; Either Jesus was God as He claimed or He was a deluded imposter.
YOUR DECISION ABOUT JESUS CHRIST WILL IMPACT YOU MORE THAN ANY OTHER DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE.
“What do you think of Christ?” Your answer to that question will determine your eternal destiny. A thousand years from now you will be living somewhere. Whether you spend your eternity in Heaven or Hell depends upon your attitude toward Jesus Christ. Jesus said:
“I am the [only] Way [to God] and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14.6)
The entire matter of our eternal destiny hinges on who we are trusting in. Most people trust in themselves. They think they can be good enough to earn God’s acceptance. I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE THAT GOOD! You won’t either. God’s standard is perfection. Hear the words of Jesus:
“What I am saying is that you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5.48
The Bible reveals that we all fail to live up to the divine standard; “Certainly, there is no one so righteous on earth that he always does what is good and never sins.” Ecclesiastes 7.20 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3.23
To receive God’s gift of salvation and spend eternity in His Paradise, you must believe that Jesus, The sinless Son of God, became man in order to die, to pay the penalty for your sins. You must also believe that He rose from the dead and is alive today.
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of
God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” -I John 5.13
